Caregiver jobs in Indianapolis and Greenwood
We are always looking for caregivers who are dependable, warm and genuinely good with people. If that is you, we would like to hear from you.
What we look for
Skills can be taught. Reliability and kindness are harder to train, so we hire for those first. If you show up when you said you would and you treat people well, we will teach you the rest.
- Dependability above everything else
- Patience, warmth and good listening
- Willingness to complete background and reference checks
- Reliable transport for community visits
What you get
- Flexible schedules built around your life
- Consistent clients rather than a different house every day
- Paid training and ongoing development
- Supervisors who answer the phone
What the job actually involves
Caregiving is practical work. You will help people wash and dress, cook meals, keep a home tidy, prompt medication at the right times, drive to appointments and sit and talk. Some days it is straightforward. Some days someone is frightened or confused or in pain, and the job is to stay calm and kind anyway.
You will not be asked to do clinical work. We are a non-medical agency, so no injections, no wound care and no nursing tasks. If a client needs something outside our scope, you raise it with your supervisor and we bring in the right people.
Most caregivers work with a small number of regular clients rather than a different address every shift. Families come to rely on you, which is the best and the heaviest part of the role.
