From your message to a caregiver at the door
Nothing here commits you to anything, and you can stop at any step.
We call you back
Usually the same working day. We ask a few questions to understand the situation and to confirm that we cover your address.
A free home visit
We come to the house at a time that suits you, meet everyone, and look at how the day actually goes. It takes about an hour and costs nothing.
A written plan
You get the schedule, the tasks and the cost in writing before anything starts. If you would rather think about it, that is completely fine.
Prefer to call?
Most families find it easier to explain the situation out loud than to write it down, and a five minute phone call usually settles more than an exchange of emails. You will reach a person in our office rather than a menu.
If you call outside office hours, leave a message and we will come back to you. For anything genuinely urgent that cannot wait, contact your doctor or the emergency services.
Good things to have ready
- Roughly what is becoming difficult day to day
- Whether anyone is helping at the moment, and how often
- The address, so we can confirm we cover it
- Any dates that matter, such as a hospital discharge
- What your relative thinks about the idea of help
If you do not know some of these, call anyway. Working it out is part of what the conversation is for.

Questions before you call
For most families, within a few days of the assessment. If you are calling because a hospital discharge is happening tomorrow, say so when you ring and we will do everything we can to move faster. We would rather tell you honestly that we cannot cover a shift than promise it and leave you stuck.
This is one of the most common things families tell us, and it is rarely about the help itself. It is usually about independence and pride. We start small, often with something practical and unthreatening like housekeeping or a ride, and let trust build from there. Our caregivers are used to being politely turned away on the first visit.
We work across Marion and Johnson counties from two offices, one in Indianapolis on East Washington Street and one in Greenwood on West Smith Valley Road. That covers Indianapolis and its townships, Greenwood, Center Grove, Beech Grove, Lawrence, Speedway, Southport, Whiteland, Bargersville and Franklin. If you are just outside, call and ask.
