Senior Transportation Services in Indianapolis
Handing over the car keys should not mean handing over your life. We drive, we park, we walk in with you, and we get you home with the groceries put away.
More than a ride
A rideshare driver drops you at the curb and pulls away. That is fine when you are thirty. It is not fine when you use a walker, cannot quite hear the woman at the front desk, or need someone to remember what the cardiologist said about the next three months. Our caregivers stay with you from the front door of your house to the front door of the office, and back again.
This is non-medical transportation. We are not an ambulance, and we do not move anyone who needs monitoring on the road. What we provide is a steady, familiar person who knows the way to the hospital campus, knows which parking deck is closest to the entrance, and knows the Kroger where you have shopped for twenty years. For a lot of seniors in Indianapolis and Greenwood, this is the service that keeps the rest of life intact. Senior transportation of this kind is less about the vehicle than about having someone beside you at every step.
What our senior transportation service includes
One caregiver handles the whole outing, from the driveway to the kitchen counter.
Medical appointments
Rides to doctors, dentists, eye exams, physical therapy and dialysis, with time built in for waiting rooms that run late.
Escort into the appointment
We park, walk you in, sit with you if you want, and carry home the printed instructions and the follow-up dates.
Grocery shopping
We push the cart, reach the top shelf, load the trunk and put everything away in the right cupboard once we are home.
Pharmacy runs
Picking up prescriptions and over-the-counter items at the counter, or waiting on a refill so you do not have to.
Social visits and worship
Rides to church, the senior center, a friend's house, the barber or a grandchild's ballgame, because that matters too.
Errands you would rather skip
The bank, the post office, the BMV, the dry cleaner and the hardware store, run with you along or entirely on your behalf.
Who rides with us
Transportation is often the first help a family arranges, and the easiest for a parent to accept.
- Seniors who have stopped driving, or probably should
- Anyone who cannot manage a walker and a car door alone
- People with frequent appointments after a hospital stay
- Adult children burning through PTO on doctor visits
- Seniors in Greenwood or Southport far from any bus line
- Anyone who has quietly stopped going anywhere at all
Why families trust us with the drive
You are not handed off to a stranger
The caregiver who drives you is the one who walks you in. No app, no rotating drivers, no wondering who is pulling into the driveway.
We plan for the whole outing
Appointments run long. We do not watch the clock, and we do not leave anyone sitting alone in a lobby waiting on a pickup.
Local roads, local offices
Our teams work out of Indianapolis and Greenwood. They know the hospital campuses, the parking decks and which door actually has the ramp.
Questions families ask about this
Yes, including the wait if treatment runs long. What we cannot do is anything medical on the way there or back. If someone needs monitoring, oxygen management or a clinician in the vehicle, that calls for medical transport instead, and we will tell you plainly if we think that is the case for your parent.
Either one. Many families prefer we drive their parent’s own car. It is familiar, and it is usually already set up for getting in and out. Our caregivers can also drive their own insured vehicle. We will walk through which option makes more sense, and how mileage is handled, before the first ride is scheduled.
Only if the client wants that and tells the office it is fine. Some people want a second set of ears and someone to write down what the doctor actually said. Others want privacy, and that is their call. We follow the client’s wishes, and we can pass notes along to the family when the client agrees to it.
It depends on the chair and on her. We can assist someone who transfers into a standard vehicle with support, and we will stow a folding chair, a walker or a cane. We are not a wheelchair-van service, so a client who must remain seated in a power chair needs a specialized vehicle. Describe the setup when you call and we will be straight with you.
Yes. Some clients would rather stay home and hand over a list. We will shop, pick up the prescription, drop off the dry cleaning and bring it all back. Plenty of families do a mix. She comes along on good days, and on hard days we go alone. Receipts and change come back every single time.
Standing weekly appointments are easiest, and we can hold the same day and time for you. For one-off trips, more notice is better, especially for early mornings and for anything downtown. Call 463-277-4092 as soon as you have the appointment card and we will work it into the schedule.
People who need this often need
Companion Care
Someone to sit down, talk, play cards and get out of the house with.
Post Hospital Care
The first two weeks at home usually decide how a recovery goes.
Light Housekeeping
A clean, uncluttered home is easier to move through and easier to enjoy.
