Non-Medical Home Care

In Home Disability Support Services in Indiana

Support built around the life you already have, not around a diagnosis. Our caregivers help with the daily routine so adults living with a disability can stay at home and stay in charge.

Help with the routine, not with your decisions

Plenty of adults need a hand with showering, cooking or getting across town, and need nothing at all with deciding how their life runs. Those two things get confused often, usually by people who mean well. Our in home disability support services in Indiana are built on keeping them separate. You set the day. A caregiver helps you carry it out.

That starts with asking rather than assuming. How do you like your morning to go. Which parts of personal care do you want help with and which do you handle yourself. Where do you actually want to go this week. We write the care plan from your answers, review it with you, and change it when you say it needs changing. Family can be part of that conversation when you want them there.

What in-home disability support can cover

You choose which of these you want, and how much of each.

Personal care, on your terms

Bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting with the amount of help you ask for, done in the order you prefer, without a caregiver taking over the whole task.

A routine that holds up

A routine that holds up

Consistent visit times, the same small number of caregivers, and a predictable rhythm to the week so work, school, therapy or appointments all still fit.

Getting out into the community

Getting out into the community

Rides and accompaniment to work, class, the gym, a place of worship, the store or a friend's house. Living at home should not mean staying inside it.

Meals and the kitchen

Meals and the kitchen

Cooking together or cooking for you, shopping, prepping food ahead, and keeping the kitchen set up so the things you want within reach stay within reach.

A home that stays workable

A home that stays workable

Laundry, dishes, light housekeeping, and keeping floors and doorways clear so a chair, walker or cane can get through without a fight every time.

Reminders and appointment prompts

Reminders and appointment prompts

Medication reminders, appointment prompts and help keeping a calendar. Caregivers cue and remind. They never administer medication or give medical advice.

Who we support

We work with adults across Marion County, Johnson County and the surrounding area.

How we work

Person-first, in practice
You are a person who happens to have a disability, and the care plan reads that way. Caregivers are briefed on how you communicate and what independence looks like for you.

Non-medical, clearly
We do not perform nursing tasks, therapy or anything clinical. If your support needs include those, we work alongside the licensed providers who do.

Local and reachable
Offices on East Washington Street in Indianapolis and Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, so scheduling changes get handled by someone nearby rather than a call center.

Questions families ask about this

No. Cater2U provides non-medical in-home support. Our caregivers do not administer medication, perform wound care, give injections, or carry out any nursing or therapy task. They help with daily living activities, household tasks, transportation and companionship, and they give reminders and cues. Clinical care comes from your licensed providers.

That is the opposite of the goal. The intake conversation covers exactly which parts of a task you want help with, and caregivers are told to wait and assist rather than step in. If a caregiver is doing too much or too little, tell us and we will adjust the plan. It is your plan to change.

Yes. We ask how the person communicates before the first visit, including any device, board, signs or personal cues they use, and we pass that on to every caregiver assigned. Family members and support staff who already know the person are usually the best source of that information, and we want it in detail.

Yes. Rides and accompaniment are a standard part of in-home disability support. That includes work, classes, volunteer commitments, medical appointments, worship, errands and social plans. We cover Marion and Johnson counties and the nearby communities, and we will be honest if a destination is outside our range.

Yes, and it usually is. Visits can be short and frequent, such as a morning routine and an evening routine, or longer blocks on certain days. Overnight and around the clock support are available. Tell us what your week looks like and we will build hours that fit it rather than the other way around.

We can talk through payment options including private pay and long-term care insurance, and help you explore whether you qualify for other programs. Every situation is different, so bring your questions to the first conversation and we will give you a straight answer about what we can help arrange.
