Non-Medical Home Care

Personal Care Services in Indianapolis

Help with bathing, dressing, grooming and getting around, given gently and without fuss. Our caregivers support the parts of the day that have gotten harder, so your parent can stay in their own home.

Daily help that protects dignity first

Most families do not call us the first time a shower feels risky. They call after a close call, or after Mom has quietly stopped bathing because the tub has become frightening. Personal care covers the everyday tasks that used to take five minutes and now take thirty: getting dressed, washing up, moving from the bed to the chair. None of it is medical. All of it matters.

Cater2U Home Care is a non-medical agency serving Indianapolis, Greenwood and the surrounding parts of Marion and Johnson counties. Our caregivers are trained in hands-on assistance with activities of daily living, often shortened to ADLs. We work at your parent’s pace, we ask before we touch, and we explain what we are doing as we go. The goal is not to take over. It is to fill in the gap so aging in place stays realistic.

Why families in Marion County choose Cater2U

Care that respects modesty
Bathing is the task people resist most, and usually it is about dignity rather than the water. We go slow, keep your parent covered where we can, and never rush a step.

Local offices, real people
We work out of East Washington Street in Indianapolis and West Smith Valley Road in Greenwood. When you call 463-277-4092 you reach people who know the neighborhoods we serve.

Non-medical, clearly defined
We are a BBB accredited non-medical agency, so you always know where our role ends. If a need crosses into skilled nursing, we say so plainly and help you find the right provider.

Questions families ask about this

This is the most common call we get, and it is rarely about the bath. It is about a stranger seeing her undressed. We usually start with something easier, like laundry or breakfast, and let her get used to the caregiver first. Once there is trust, bathing often stops being a fight. We never force it.

We schedule for consistency, because personal care depends on trust and routine. Most clients see the same one or two caregivers week to week. When your regular caregiver is sick or on vacation, we send a backup who has been briefed on the care plan, and we tell you in advance whenever we can.

No. Cater2U is a non-medical agency. Our caregivers assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers and mobility. They do not perform wound care, give injections, or handle anything that requires a nurse or therapist. If your parent needs skilled care, that comes from a home health agency and can run alongside our visits.

Good instinct. We assess what she can still do safely and leave that with her. A caregiver might set out clothes and stand by while she dresses herself rather than doing it for her. Taking over too fast is how people lose skills, so we write the plan around participation, not convenience.

Often within a few days. We begin with a free in-home assessment in Indianapolis, Greenwood or the surrounding area, usually within a day or two of your call. Once the plan and schedule are set, care can start as soon as we have a caregiver matched. If your parent is being discharged from a hospital this week, say so when you call and we will move faster.

Rates depend on how many hours you need and what the visits involve, so we quote after the assessment rather than over the phone. We can talk through payment options including private pay and long-term care insurance, and help you explore whether you qualify for other programs. You will see the numbers in writing before anything begins.
